The medical profession is exercised i) in an employment relationship or in a similar employment relationship, ii) on the basis of a permit to operate a healthcare facility (hereinafter referred to as the “permit”) or a permit issued pursuant to a special regulation, iii) on the basis of a license to perform an independent medical practice, iv) on the basis of a license to perform medical assessment activities, or v) on the basis of a trade license pursuant to a special regulation.
The permit for operating a general hospital is issued to the applicant by the relevant self-governing region.
In addition, the applicant submits an application for the issuance of a permit to a self-governing region as part of the transferred performance of the state administration for the operation of:
- an ambulance (other than fixed ambulance emergency service, ambulance of auxiliary ambulance emergency service, ambulance of the transport health service, epidemiological ambulance)
- a facility for the provision of one-day healthcare,
- a day-care facility,
- a polyclinic,
- a home nursing care agency,
- a facility of joint examination and treatment units,
- a general hospital,
- a medical centre,
- a hospice,
- a nursing home,
- a mobile hospice.
